Last Chance for Halloween Science for October

Hey everyone! This Saturday (October 31) we are having our last Halloween Science Class until next year. This year we have been doing our regular classes, special parties and just got done doing a special show for a school district. What can I say, it's a big hit. We still have one last class this weekend before we pack up Halloween Science until next year. This year we are still having some of our classic boo bubbles and making worms we also have included making a secret message and more. 

If you would like to attend our class this weekend please register by paying online through our blog. The cost is 15 dollars per child. If you cannot pay through our blog you can pay on site when you arrive. We will be having our class at Valley Horizon Elementary School. The class starts at 1pm and goes for an hour and a half. Halloween Science October 24th

This Saturday we will be having our famous Halloween Science Class. We will be exploring some of last years popular concepts as and also have some new topics as well. Our location for this class will be at Valley Horizon Elementary School. Our star time has changed and will now be at 1:00pm. Alot of parents talked to us and said this time was better for them and it's right after their kids have eaten so they won't be hungry throughout the class. We will be contacting those who have singed up and notifying them asap. Next week on the 31st we will be having another Halloween Science Class. It will also be at Valley Horizon and will start at 1:00pm. The previous post will be edited to show the right times as well. Thank you so much for following us!

Also, in order to keep things fair the only way we are accepting payments before class times are through paypal. We cannot hold any reservations as we have had several reserve a spot and then not show up sometimes cutting the class in half. And that was when we had told several people we were full. So, the only secure way to reserve a spot is to pay through paypal. You can show up on the site and pay but you also take a risk of the class already being full.

October Classes

 Since October is the same month as Halloween, we've decided to make the month full of creepy crawly science. Starting on October 10th we will have our first class of the 2015-2016 school year and the topic is Bugs. And not the kind that say "What's up, doc?" But we will learn all about insects that are a vital part of our ecosystem. 

Yes, the ones that make people scream when they see them. And in case you can't make that class that week we will be doing the same one the next Saturday on October the 17th.
Then, on October 24th and 31st we will be having our classic Halloween Science class that was such a big hit last year. Making worms, Boo Bubbles, learning about dry ice, and more.

Leprechaun Trap

This past week we learned all about forensic science. The kids examined fingerprints, then the group made a Leprechaun trap. Later we enter the crime scene and our pot of gold had been stolen.  Thankful we had our very own CSI team to help us find clues. There were a few very mysterious clues we found around downtown Main Street Yuma that led us to believe that a leprechaun came and stole our gold coins. Luckily for us we had our best Forensic Scientist on hand and they were able to recover the pot of gold. No Leprechaun was found but I am sure everyone from the class will have an extra watchful eye this St. Patrick's Day.

We have a class coming up on March 14 and the 21st. This month we will be exploring forensic science and leprechauns. Please register in advance on our blog in the right hand corner. Registering online ensures we have the correct amount of materials for each student. Students will get to do several experiments that will help them gather evidence and use forensic science to solve the crime. This class is appropriate for all ages.

Dates: Saturday March 14 and March 21
Class Time: 10:00-11:30AM

Volcanoes and Rocks!

This months theme is volcanoes and rocks! I'm super excited to do this theme this month because it's also the month of February which has Valentines Day. In fact, we are having our first class on Valentines Day starting at 1:00pm. Why? Because we here at YumaRocks love rocks and volcanoes. (So, it fits)  So here is a tentative list of classes for the month of February. We will be offering classes two weekends this month unless we get a demand for more. The dates are

FEB 14 @ 1:00 pm
FEB 21 @ 10:00 am

The price will be $15.00 per child at the door or you can now pre-pay in advance on our PayPal link above at the top of our page on the right hand side. They take credit cards or PayPal accounts. If you pay online well in advance or before the day of the class, the cost is only 10 dollars per child. If you make arrangements to pay us in person before the day of the class, the cost is 10 dollars. However, you will need to pay the day before by 9:00 pm. After 9:00pm on the Friday you won't be able to pre-pay until after the Saturday class is over. So, if you sign up in advance be sure to bring your receipt with you to class to prove you have paid.

*********************if you pre-pay and don't show up, there is no refund. You are paying for a spot for your child to attend. We are sorry if this causes any inconveinince however we have been turning down kids when a lot people are a no show. We also give away gifts that are non refundable. We can't keep operating this way so we hope you understand. ******************************

So the only sure way of registering your child/children for the classes is to pay in advance otherwise there may or may not be room for the class you might want. We will take paid registrations on a first come first serve basis and we will let you know via Facebook and our Blog if a certain date is already full and if we will be adding another time that day or not. When in doubt you can always call or text 928 550 3874 to find out.

 If you wait until the day of the class to pay it will be 15 dollars when you show up and we may or may not have room for your child however we will try our best to fit them in. If it needs to be, we can have another class that day or you have the option of coming another week.
